Editorial position

Careful travel writing begins by naming its limits.

The Giza Margin is a design prototype for an independent cultural-travel publication. It is built for readers who want a fuller frame around a museum visit: the contemporary institution, the city and plateau around it, the ancient material it interprets, and the questions a responsible traveller should continue asking.

We do not sell tickets, tours, transport, accommodation or packages. We do not accept a museum press release as an editorial conclusion, and we do not present a planning suggestion as a guarantee.

How we work

Operational claims are checked against the museum’s own live visitor information before they are described. Historical context is separated from current museum information. The account given by an architect, a heritage institution, a collection database or a government travel authority is labelled by source type so that a reader can see what kind of claim is being made.

We use “interpretation” for reasoned readings of material, building and display. We use “evidence” for what a cited source supports. Where scholarship or public narratives disagree, the disagreement belongs in the story rather than being flattened away.

Corrections, authorship and transparency

Articles are bylined to Editorial team. That is a transparent collective label, not an invented expert biography, visit diary or institutional affiliation. A reader may flag an error, an outdated operational statement, a missing attribution or a rights concern through the routes on Contact. Significant factual corrections should be dated on the relevant page once a working editorial inbox exists.
